Resources for Abortion Delivery

Chief of Staff

Remote | U.S.

Summary

The U.S. abortion care landscape has never been more complex or more urgent. Independent abortion providers face relentless political, legal, and operational challenges, while patient needs continue to grow. Resources for Abortion Delivery (RAD) plays a critical role in sustaining this ecosystem and ensuring timely, equitable access to quality care. RAD is excited to invite nominations and applications for its first Chief of Staff, an impact-focused, adaptive leader who will strengthen organizational alignment, improve operational systems, and ensure effective execution of strategy during a pivotal moment in the organization’s growth. The Chief of Staff reports directly to RAD’s Co-Executive Directors.

RAD envisions a future where reproductive freedom and justice prevail for all people, especially those who are BIPOC, poor or low-income, or otherwise marginalized. RAD’s mission is to ensure the continued existence and resiliency of the U.S. abortion delivery sector so that abortion seekers have access to quality care when they need it.

With a team of 12 and a strong track record of impact, RAD serves as a critical funding intermediary and sector partner, connecting independent abortion providers nationwide with the resources they need to adapt and thrive in a rapidly changing environment. Since its inception, RAD has facilitated more than $81 million in support to providers, bridging gaps between funders and abortion delivery, deploying resources where they are most needed, and offering tailored technical assistance to strengthen the field.

RAD is entering a pivotal new chapter. Following a successful leadership transition and the appointment of Co-Executive Directors, the organization is preparing for strategic planning and continued evolution of its internal structure and culture. The Chief of Staff will play a central role in this transformation, acting as an integrator across teams, a thought partner to the Co-Executive Directors, translating strategic priorities into clear plans, fostering collaboration, and advancing RAD’s culture and equity commitments. This is a highly collaborative, internal-facing leadership position designed to expand executive-level capacity and align RAD’s programmatic strategy with its operational capacity.

The Chief of Staff will round out RAD’s three-person leadership team, working closely with staff across functions to strengthen systems, improve workflows, and foster a culture rooted in equity, transparency, and care. They will supervise the Administrative Coordinator and drive progress through collaboration and informal leadership. This is an exciting opportunity for a leader who thrives on building clarity and alignment, supporting people through change, and ensuring that bold vision translates into measurable results.

RAD is a fiscally sponsored project of the Hopewell Fund, a 501(c)3 nonprofit organization.
