Marisa is a lifelong learner who believes in the transformative power of community-led change. She is deeply committed to promoting marginalized voices and empowering underrepresented leaders to create a more just, equitable, and sustainable future for all. Marisa draws upon her experiences as an educator, artist, and activist to build inclusive environments that support collaborative learning, growth, and change.
Marisa brings thirteen years of recruiting experience, including over five years dedicated to nonprofit executive search. Most recently, Marisa served as a Senior Associate at DSG | Koya where she contributed to equity-centered searches producing the successful placement of over eighty leaders in nonprofit social impact organizations nationally. Previously, Marisa led programming, recruitment and hiring efforts at Breakthrough Providence, a nationally affiliated nonprofit that provides out-of-school time programs for middle school students and builds a pipeline of young educators. Marisa is a former middle and high school teacher and has supported graduate and international programs in Brown University’s Department of Education.
Locally, Marisa teaches restorative movement, facilitates community-driven events and supports local youth development projects.
Marisa holds a both a B.A. in Education Studies and an MAT in Secondary Social Studies Education from Brown University.
