The Brigid Alliance

Chief of Staff

Remote

Summary

More people than ever before are being forced to travel for abortion care. The Brigid Alliance is working to build a country where abortion care is borderless, burden-free, and accessible to all. However, there is an epic crisis of abortion access in the United States, with many states now having total or near-total bans on abortion – and it doesn’t stop there. With the ever-changing legal landscape, many more states are still at risk of implementing these bans. Today, over two and a half years after the Supreme Court ruled to dismantle Roe v. Wade, the number of people who need to travel for abortion care has quadrupled, straining limited resources already in existence and requiring individuals to cover hundreds of miles from home to receive such critical care. The Brigid Alliance is proud to be part of an ecosystem of support organizations that is propping up abortion care access in this country in an increasingly hostile environment.

The Brigid Alliance is also at a pivotal inflection point. In the face of this hostile landscape, the organization is rapidly growing its capacity and deepening its role as a vital service provider within the reproductive health ecosystem. Internally, the team is navigating both opportunity and urgency—scaling systems, refining strategy, and strengthening culture to meet this moment and prepare for the future.

The Chief of Staff (CoS) will join at a time of organizational transformation. The Brigid alliance is closing out its first strategic plan and preparing to develop a multi-year roadmap that will define its next chapter. The CoS is a senior leadership position responsible for supporting the ED in the effective operation of the organization. As a key member of the Strategy & Impact Team and close partner to the Executive Director, the CoS will help steer organizational planning and performance, support internal communications and decision-making structures, and foster a culture of transparency, collaboration, and care.

They will act as the right hand to the Executive Director, ensuring alignment across teams, driving strategic initiatives, and optimizing organizational performance. The CoS will oversee cross-functional projects, support operations and culture, and facilitate communication across all levels of the organization to ensure the progress of key goals. They will play a central role in building connective tissue between teams, supporting a distributed and remote staff, and bridging communications between the board and staff, as well as leadership and staff, in ways that reinforce trust, clarify roles, and strengthen governance.

This is a unique opportunity for a strategic, people-centered leader to help shape an organization that is defining what it means to provide abortion access with compassion, safety, and dignity—while also building systems and culture that reflect those same values internally. The CoS will be a steady partner in a moment of momentum, uncertainty, and bold possibility. They will be part of a remote-based team and report directly to the Executive Director.
